Tour of Tuscany | June 6-16 2019
Our Tour of Tuscany is on again this year, and visits some of the lesser known areas, along with some of the well known places. We’ll be kicking off in Pistoia, visiting Volterra, Radda in Chianti and finishing in the heart of Florence. The Guides for this tour are Annabelle & Jamie Drew, who used to live just outside Pistoia during their ‘Pro’ careers, back in the 90’s. (Annabelle recently wrote a post about her 100 reasons to love Tuscany). This tour is worth it, just for a visit to the home of the ‘King of Cappucino’, where the ‘schiuma’ (froth) stands so high, it rivals Mont Blanc. Check out the full itinerary here.
2020 UCI Calendar
Often in our business it becomes necessary to plan two, or even three, seasons ahead, so it came as a little surprise when I started researching what dates we could start our 2020 Giro and TdF Tours.
Le Tour has announced their start location and date – Nice, June 27 (It’s an Olympic year, with the Mens road race on July 25, hence the early start for the TdF). While the Giro, and the UCI, appear to be vacillating, and are considering ‘The Big Start’ for May 16. Mainly to avoid a clash with the Tour of California.
Fine, except that would leave just 20 days between the finish of the Giro and the start of Le Tour.
NB. If someone gets up for the Giro/Tour double in 2020, it’ll have to be either a Superman, or a ‘Valverde’.
2018 Yearbook
Our annual Yearbook has been posted out to everyone on our mailing list. There are a few remaining, if you would like a complimentary copy. Let us know your postal address and we’ll send one your way.
