Bec McConnell wins 3 out of the first 3 MTB World Cups

Bec McConnell has been excelling in MTB racing since she was a junior, but has never excelled like this before. In the first three world cups of the season Bec picked up her first three wins. It’s come after a string of many podiums, and I’ll bet there’s no one happier than her. She’s not the first Australian Woman to win a world cup, as Mary Grigson won the first round, in 1999 (I think!) but it is very impressive. I don’t even think Cadel in his prime, as an MTB’er, strung three together. The next round is on the weekend of June 10-12, in Austria’s Leogang. You can watch it on Red Bull TV.

Happening now, Jai Hindley is running second in the Giro d’Italia

(West) Australia’s Jai Hindley, runner up in the 2020 Giro, is currently in second place, at just three seconds off the lead. It’s been a fantastic Giro so far, and it ends on Sunday, with a short Inidividual Time Trial into Verona’s Arena. There’s a story from last night’s stage, where he punctured in the final 3k, on Cycling News here.

Cape York: Our last visit – Your last chance?

In two weeks we’re running our final trip to the top of Cape York. June 12-19 are our dates, and we have a couple of places available. Cape York is really one of the last frontiers, and there is nothing like seeing it from the seat of a bike. June is about the perfect time to run up the Cape, and next year our June is full with euro tours, hence why this will be our last run up there. So, if you were thinking about coming along, now is the time to act! 😊
