Grand Tours - Vuelta a España

Vuelta a España 2016

It’s the final of the big tours for the year and a chance for riders to get themselves known. The Spanish La Vuelta is one of the hardest in terms of climbing (for the pros). For Topbike riders there are certainly some gradients to contend with but the pace a little more relaxed. Cuisine is very regional, small villages are still authentic and un-touristed, the weather a comfortable autumnal feel with a hint of summer evenings. No hurry getting out of bed as Spain starts and finishes everything late – so sleep in for a relaxing holiday.

La Vuelta - Tour of Spain 2016

September 2 – 12 2016*
Wind back your watches as Spain wakes late, eats late and sleeps late, even more so in the northern region. Which is all the better for us, as it gives us more time to enjoy the racing, without rushing home for dinner. With Topbike's Vuelta Tour, we follow the final 10 days of this grand tour as it twists its way around the top of northern Spain, through Asturias, the Cantabrian mountains, before heading to Burgos for the final week’s 39k ITT stage, a few days in Segovia before the finale in Madrid. This is a fantastic event, where you can really get in touch with these world class riders. We’ll ride most mornings, encompassing parts of the stages the riders will be competing on. We’ll get to see the riders signing on, race starts, sprints, climbs and finishes. You'll be swept away by the energy and intricacies of grand tour stage racing. Topped off with excellent accommodation and cuisine, this makes Topbike's Vuelta Tour one of our best tours!
